BE RESPECTFUL OF MY TIME
If a scholarship says it is due on the 30th, do not wait until the 29th to ask me to complete a transcript request or school information section and expect your application to be complete and on time.

Transcript requests are outside of my door and provide a paper trail. For recommendation letters or completing a school information section on the scholarship application, ask me to complete and write a note. If not, I cannot recollect the directions for each scholarship and it may go unnoticed.

Timberline Billing Service Scholarship
Due Date: 1/15/20
WHO: For a senior who has an IEP during high school. The applicant must be attending a school that uses Timberline Billings Service. (Western uses Timberline Billing Service.) Applicant must be graduating in May and planning to attend a community college, trade school, or a 4-year institution.
HOW MUCH: $2000.00
IEC Memorial Scholarship -Thomas Moore
Due Date: 12/31/20
WHO: Eight scholarships. Four will be given to the child of an electric cooperative member. The fifth would go to a child of an electric cooperative employee. The six and seventh scholarship are reserved for students who enroll full time at a two year community college in IL and are the sons or daughters of an employee, members or directors. Illinois Rural Electric will match the Illinois Electric Cooperative Memorial Scholarship won by the child of one of its members. The 8th scholarship is reserved for relatives of co-op employees or directors as are individuals who are serving or have served in the armed forces or National Guard. The scholarship will help pay for the student to attend the line workers school conducted by the AIEC and Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield.

Great Rivers Bank and Liberty Bank Essay Contest for Community Banking Association of Illinois
Due Date: 2/18/21
WHO: This scholarship requires an essay where students talk about the importance of small-town community banks. Essays are written in Senior English class are due no later than Feb 14th.

Ellis Foundation Scholarship

WHO:
All of The Ellis Foundation Scholarships are for $8000. The scholarship pays $1000 per semester for 8 consecutive semesters. The scholarship is paid directly to the college and can be applied for books, tuition, and on-campus housing. Please have students fill out the application carefully and complete the essay portion in detail. It is important for the student to clearly state why they need/want this scholarship. Make sure students also include school and community involvement. We check all applications carefully and consider the student’s academic success, school and community involvement, as well as, the financial need of each student. We give special consideration for situations such as a single-parent family, a family where parents are out of work, a student living independently etc. Students need to meet the following criteria to qualify for The Ellis Foundation Traditional Scholarship: Degree Choice: Any, Minimum GPA: 3.0, Minimum ACT: 20

Pike County Quail Unlimited Management Association Scholarship
Due Date: 2/10/22
WHO: This scholarship will be awarded to a senior at any Pike County High School. Eligible students may be entering a two-year or four-year program after graduation with an emphasis on agriculture or conservation. This scholarship will be awarded annually and payable to said recipient for educational purposes.
HOW MUCH: $500
Half of the payment will be made to the school at the commencement of the first term and the remaining will be awarded at the commencement of the second term provided the student has maintained a C average or above.
IL PTA Scholarship
Due Date: 2/14/20
WHO: For a student who plans to enroll in an education related degree program. Students must be in the top 33% of their class, a senior, and enrolling in a college or university in one of the following programs (Library Science, instructional media specialists, school nurses, school psychologists or social workers, etc.

Illinois Chemical Education Foundation

WHO: Future Chemists, Chemical Engineers, Environmental Engineers or High School Chemistry teachers. This scholarship is awarded teacher year to top high school science students. More information can be found at www.cicil.net or by contacting ICEF at 847-544-5995.

WHO: For students who have shown a history of extracurricular activities that demonstrates a willingness to accept leadership roles or a commitment to civic responsibility, social consciousness and a willingness to serve the community service.

Children of Vets Tuition Waiver
Due Date: 3/1/20
WHO: The Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver is a four-year in-state tuition waiver at the University of Illinois. The recipient may use his/her Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver at any of the University of Illinois campuses (Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, Health Sciences Center, Springfield).
HOW MUCH: Up to six tuition waivers are awarded per county - one for each of the following wars/conflicts: World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam Conflict, the Southwest Asia Conflict, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Specific information regarding the required service dates and medal eligibility is provided on the application itself.

Next, choose the correct year of forms. The application is listed under the “General” section. The applicant will need to print out the application and mail it to our office with the required documents.
Candidates must submit the completed application with photocopies of both the veteran parent’s service papers (DD Form 214) and the student’s ACT scores to our office.

WHO: For students whose teachers are parents (does not have to be in our district). Then check to see if they are members of IEA or NEA. The students must be an undergraduate education major or a high school senior who is planning to enroll in education.

Marine Corp Scholarship
Due Date: 3/3/20
WHO: For the son or daughter of an active duty or reserve marine, US Marine who was honorably discharged, medical discharge, or killed while serving, an active duty US Navy Corpsman who is serving or has served, or a US Navy Corpsman who has been honorably discharged, medically discharged or killed while serving. Also applicant’s family must have gross income of less than 77,000 dollars. A GPA of 2.0 is needed as well.

American Legion Dept of Illinois Scholarship

WHO: Applicant must have a relative who is an American Legion member, anywhere in Illinois.

DOT Foods Scholarship Program

WHO: Minimum ACT score of a 21, minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants are expected to work at Dot foods three out of their four summers while in college.

IL Association of Housing Authorities Central Coucil- Ed Assistance Grant
Due Date: 3/28/20
WHO: The Central Illinois Council of the Illinois Association of Housing Authorities has elected to implement an Educational Assistance Grant Program. The program will be administered by the Central Council. The money may be used for tuition, books, approved activity fees, necessities, or work programs and other items at the discretion of the sponsoring council.

Barber Family Foundation Scholarship
Due Date: 3/19/22
WHO: The Charles and Frances Barber Scholarship is awarded annually to 5-7 Pike County students, one of which is reserved for a Pittsfield High School graduating senior. This scholarship is in memory of Charles and Frances Barber. Charles was a lifetime resident of Pike County and a graduate of Pittsfield High School. Frances was a long-time resident and taught in the Pittsfield school system. To apply for this scholarship, complete the academic scholarship application, found at the following link.

WHO: Pike HCE applicants must be related to a current three year HCE member (your Mom or Grandma) OR a four-year member of 4-H. Illinois HCE applicants must be related to a current HCE member (your Mom, grandma, sister, or aunt). THE ATTACHED APPLICATION IS USED FOR BOTH SCHOLARSHIPS. Also, the applicant must be accepted or enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a college or technical school, must be in good scholastic standing with at least a “C” average, and parents of applicants must live in Pike County.

Illinois Association of HCE Scholarship

WHO: The applicant must be a member in good standing or an immediate family member, child, or grandchild of such member of a county HCE-HEA for a minimum of three years. Applicant must attend a two or four year university or college working toward an under graduate degree. The applicant must submit a new application each year. Eligibility is limited to four years. Student must be considered a full time student and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average (transcript required). A photo must be attached to the scholarship application. Applicant should be declared a major in the home economics curriculum.

Western Foundation Book and Fees Scholarship

WHO: This scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating Western senior who has volunteered their time to community service during their high school career.
HOW MUCH? The scholarship recipient will receive a check for $500 upon presenting proof of registration of the college of their choice to the Western Guidance Office.
Western American Red Cross "Young Minds Change Lives" Scholarship
Due Date: 5/15/20
WHO: This scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating Western senior who has volunteered their time or donated blood to one of three blood drives held during the 2015-2016 school year.

Virginia Redman Scholarship

WHO: For students who regularly attend Catholic Mass and have lived in St. Mary’s Parish for at least one year. Applicants are required to be accepted for full time enrollment in an accredited college.

The Hagan Scholarship
Due Date: 11/15/20
Must have a 23 ACT or higher and work 240 hours in the 12 months prior to the start of college. Must be willing to complete a FAFSA in 2015 using the 2014 tax information and the estimated family contribution (EFC) be less than $7,500. Must apply for eligible Federal and State grants.
We Grow Dreams Scholarship Whitetail Properties

WHO: The scholarship will be a one-time award of $1,000.00 and will be disbursed prior to the start of the 2nd semester once proof of 1st semester GPA from college and 2nd-semester class schedule has been provided to the scholarship committee. This scholarship is to be used towards one or a combination of the following: Room & Board/Supplies/Tuition. The applicant’s GPA must be 3.0 or higher to apply.

Dorothy J Motley Memorial Scholarship

Who: The Dorothy J Motley Memorial Scholarship is offered to help support quality students who have not been able to secure other substantial financial aid for their academic achievement. This scholarship is intended to recognize the typical Western senior student: the student who does a good job while not receiving the highest scores or best grades. This student must display good citizenship, be of good character, and must display a financial need.

Hack-Miller Pike County Scholarship

WHO:
The Hack-Miller Pike County Educational Trust Scholarship was established under the William Hack and Elizabeth Miller Family Educational Trust and is available to a Pike County, Illinois, graduating senior. Applicants can pursue any field of study. The recipient will be selected by the Hack-Miller Pike County Educational Trust Advisory Committee based on community service,
leadership, character, academic achievement, job experience, and financial need.

CL Tiling Scholarship

WHO: It is our intention based on qualified applicants to award (7) scholarships to graduating seniors in Adams, Brown, Ford, Fulton, Hancock, Pike, and Schuyler counties – One per county.
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:
· Be a high school graduate or graduating in 2022.
· Be accepted for enrollment or be enrolled at a post-secondary school.
· Exhibit potential for successful completion of a course of study and be a full-time student.

This program allows students the opportunity to develop skills for use in the agriculture field. Students will be able to see all aspects of Beard Implement Company and learn valuable skills in communication, business, and working in group settings. We strive to create a welcoming and safe environment and develop a relationship of trust.

Illinois Sheriff's Association Scholarship

Who: The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association will be awarding over 100 scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2023-2024 academic year. The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois.
Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents. Scholarships are to be utilized at institutions of higher learning within the State of Illinois.
Student must be enrolled as a full-time college student during the 2023-2024 school year (excluding the summer session).

The BK Electric Two Rivers Plumbing Skilled Trade Scholarship is intended for graduating high
school students of Pike County, Illinois who will attend a technical or trade school focusing on
electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, heating or cooling. Additionally, this scholarship is intended to
assist in filling the gap of skilled tradespeople in the Pike County, Illinois community.
Requirements
2023 graduate of a Pike County high school
Intention and admission to enter a skilled trade program (electrical, plumbing, refrigeration,
heating or cooling)
*Award funds will be distributed upon documentation of acceptance/enrollment into one
of the above-skilled trade programs
This scholarship award is for $2,000.00.

WHO: The IHSA Foundation is offering $14,000 dollars in scholarships to the class of 2023 seniors who plan to:
A) Major in education in college (or)
B) Intend to get involved in the coaching profession after high school (or)
C) Are currently licensed and actively working as an IHSA official.
Interested applicants can submit their application via a three-minute or less video. Two recipients from each of the seven IHSA geographic divisions will be selected to win scholarships. Be sure to address the four criteria below in the video submission, with the most emphasis being placed on #3 & #4. Be creative in telling us your high school story, and how its impact led you to pursue teaching, coaching, or officiating.
HOW MUCH: A total of fourteen students will be selected and awarded $1,000 each.
